So You Think You Can Dance Returns!
Wow, I had the best time ever on Tuesday night. The SYTYCD tour came to SLC which meant it was time for another ladies night. The gals and I (with the exception of Jenn who's babysitter fell through at the last minute...how sad) went to dinner and then the show -- it was amazing! Seriously, I was thoroughly entertained the entire time -- what a fantastic event! It was especially cool because three of the dancers are from the SLC area. The show was jam-packed with a ton of my favorite dances from the season and they are so much better live! I came out of there inspired to bust a move...followed by the rude awakening that whatever talent I actually developed in the good ol' days at Dance Dimensions has faded away....sniff.
This group (minus three on the back row) are all on tour. Each dancer performed a solo and they were all amazing but Twitch's (as always) was my favorite.
Regrettably as you may recall...my camera is busted. I tried to get some shots with my camera phone but without a flash it was pretty much a lost cause. I am especially sad that my picture of Jobi sporting her suh-weet Twitch glasses didn't turn out!
Thanks to Aaron for being such a great hubby by a)letting me buy the semi-expensive ticket b)taking care of Finn while I was gone and c)having some yummy fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies waiting for me when I got home. You are the best baby!

Two Great Weekends
I totally dropped the ball and did not get ANY good pictures of our trip to California this past weekend. Wow, I'm really sad about it.
Matt and Jess blessed their little girl Brooklyn so Aaron, Finn and I made the trip to Corona to attend. We were only there for 2 days...so there are some family and friends from So Cal that we didn't get to see :( but we were so glad to spend time with those of you we were lucky enough to hang out with!
Then on Thursday, we got to go to Park City for the night...for free! Aaron's department at Novell treated all the employees and their wives to a really nice dinner, a hotel stay and a $100 gift card to spend at the outlet mall! Finn got to spend another night with his Grammy and Aaron and I had a fantastic time. The rooms were GIGANTIC with a full-on kitchen, fireplace, ginormous jetted tub etc. etc. etc. Here are a few pics I snapped with my camera phone:

What a fantastic way to close out the summer!
PS: Finn chucked our camera off of the loft yesterday and it is totally busted...so I guess I'll have to rely on my camera phone for now until we can afford a new one!

We're Cheering for the Cougars!

Today is BYU's first football game of the season and I really don't think Aaron could be any more excited. He got season tickets this year (I know, I deserve the wife of the year award for that one) with his brothers and they all just headed out the door as giddy as could be. Before they left though, I managed to get this picture of my boys in their BYU apparel. Go cougars!

Boyz II Men Rocks My World!

Alright, alright alright. I know what you're all thinking. But DON'T underestimate the power that a has-been group can have over an Orem audience, not to mention my heart strings. Seriously, I have fallen in love with Boyz II Men all over again.
It all started at Missy Porter's house in 4th (or was it 5th?) grade. "On Bended Knee" began to play over the speakers and I shared my first slow dance with a sweaty-palmed boy named Matthew Gaile. I had never heard a more romantic song in my life.
Fast-forward 13 years, and my sisters surprised me with a ticket to join them at a Boyz II Men concert at the Scera Shell outdoor amphitheater. Aaron stayed home with Finn under the guise that he "only ever listened to Boyz II Men at stake dances, if that". Boy did he miss out!
Neil, Tom, Megan and Lesli getting amped for the showThe theater was TOTALLY packed and the crowd was totally psyched. The singers were all so surprised and happy that so many people came, and they really did put on a great show! This short video shows some of their sweet performance skills -- check out those dance moves!
It really was so entertaining...I would see them again any time!

Bear Lake Baby!

Dan and Bobbi asked us if we wanted to go camping this past weekend. When I started making plans including sleeping bags, firewood etc., Dan said, "well, it's not really that kind of camping." Turns out Bobbi's fam has a pimped-out trailer at Bear Lake with A/C, beds and running water. I enjoy roughing it every now and then, but this kind of deluxe camping was definitely enjoyable! We had such a great time. We went four-wheeling on some really cool trails in the hills, enjoyed a refreshing dip in the lake and a delicious steak BBQ followed by some ruckus card games. Ellen watched Finn for us, making it the first time that Aaron and I have both been away from him for a night. I really wish I would have taken more pictures...especially of the four-wheeling. What a great getaway!
