Finn's Got Talent!

Finn has acquired so many funny talents lately. First, he twists his tongue like crazy all the time. If you haven't seen a picture of that, look at the pics in this post. To add to that, yesterday we caught him doing this all on his own:

After we saw him doing it, my brother Tom kept getting him to do it more. He spit so much that the whole front of his shirt was soaked! I know I shouldn't encourage that kind of behavior, but it was so funny!
And lastly, we had to get a video when he started doing this in his highchair:

We have such an active little guy!

Fresh Prince of My Heart!

Take the Quiz

Wow. I always knew I liked Will Smith...but I guess our connection is much deeper than I ever realized. Interesting what the Internet can teach you.

Good Deals and Bad Deals

Good Deals:
This past week was fun for us. First of all, Aaron's mom and brother Ben spent the week at our house while Ellen house hunted. (They are planning on moving to Utah this summer.) Ellen babysat for a night so Aaron and I could go out which was fun, and we just had some good bonding time with them during the other days they were here.
Here are some cute pictures I took of Ellen playing with Finn:

On Sunday, we went to Dan and Bobbi's for dinner and Finn got the best of both worlds: he was outside AND in the exersaucer! He absolutely loves being outside and loved Jaxson's old exersaucer so I had to get some pictures...and yes, he also loves to twist his tongue around when he smiles!

Bad Deals:
The other fun thing from last week was that I tried out for Deal or No Deal! There was a casting call in Salt Lake City on Saturday that I found out about on Friday. Actually, Aaron said to me "Ash, there's a Deal or No Deal casting call tomorrow...you're going!" I talked my sister Andrea into coming with me and we had a blast! Aaron was so great and hung out with Finn all day. A lot of people brought their babies with them which was BONKERS to me, but whatev. There was sooooo many people there (like thousands). We got there at 9am and weren't done until 4:30pm! Here's some shots of the crowds:

Let me explain the following picture: I was trying to get a shot of an old man that came in a full-on tux...you can't really see him but he looked awesome! There was also a guy in referee attire and tons of other gimmicks...great day for people-watching!
It was really exciting and I got so close, but unfortunately, I got cut at the last second. This is how it works:
They bring about 8 people up to a table with one producer, then each person has 20 seconds to sell themselves. That producer picks 3 out of the 8 to move on. I made this cut and Andrea didn't...but I am certain it is because we are the same person and the producer just randomly picked one of us to go through. After that, I had to repeat what I just said to another producer who gave me the go-ahead to move on. I moved into a new line and 8 of us were brought to a table again, and this time we only had 10 seconds to impress yet another producer. He kept me and only one other guy!!!! I got so excited...until the other guy started talking and I found out he is an Iraq vet who has leukemia and 4 kids...how could I compete with that? Plus, the producer asked me what my hobbies/interests were and I kind of blanked...which made me look even more boring compared to the diseased war hero...so he said he'd hang on to my application and told me I could go. He said there's a possibility I may get called in a few months but I highly doubt it. But don't worry, since it's my life's quest to be on a game show I'm not giving up!

Oh Canada!

We just got back from a trip to Regina, Saskatchewan (or "The Vag" as we've lovingly come to call it). My friend Jenn got married on March 28th and I really wanted to be there, especially since my Dad performed the sealing. Aaron and Finn came too and we had a great time.

Finn was such a good little traveller...he slept a lot and was so happy when he was awake! Travelling with a baby can be stressful so we were thankful that he was so cooperative.

The wedding was so wonderful, it was so nice to spend time with my parents, and as a bonus, my sister Brittany came down from Calgary and we got to spend a lot of time with her too!

We ate at my favorite Indian restaurant, enjoyed a REAL teenburger from A&W (A&W in the States = cold fries and nasty burgers on stale buns...A&W in Canada = bacon cheeseburger heaven amidst a sea of delectable onion rings) and Aaron made sure to pick up some Fuzzy Peaches (yummy Canadian candies WAY better than Peach Rings). Aaron also treated himself to some caffeine-free Mountain Dew which made the whole trip worth it for him. (For those of you who don't know, Aaron is addicted to caffeine/Mountain Dew but he has kicked the habit and has been caffeine-free for 6 weeks now!) Mountain Dew doesn't have caffeine in Canada so Aaron was able to indulge his taste buds guilt-free.

Unfortunately, I am really bad at taking pictures and I realized when I got home that I didn't get any pics with my parents or with Brittany! Arg. Here are a few pictures that I got of the wedding...

The happy couple right outside the temple. Robert is from Uganda and was mission companions with Jenn's brother in South Africa. Jenn wrote him on the mish and the rest is history!

This picture was taken the night of the sealing at the family dinner. I love how Finn is looking at Jenn. Robert and Jenn wore their authentic African garb to the dinner -- how fun!

These were taken at the wedding reception the following night. No, I was not in the wedding party, I'm just holding a bouquet for kicks :) Aaron and I were so glad that we could be there to share this special time with the happy couple!
Jenn was my maid of honor 4/12 years ago...so here's a picture of us just for fun: (I haven't quite figured out my scanner yet, hence the small size of this picture :)

On the way home, Finn was so good. He woke up from a long nap at the Minneapolis airport and was SUPER happy. He was scooching all over the place making friends with the passengers. Here is a video Aaron took of him:

And just because I love them so much, here are a couple pictures I took of Finn before we left:

Love this little guy!

Collective Soul Concert

I forgot to blog about this so...

Earlier this month, we got to go to a Collective Soul concert...for free! It was part of an employee appreciation thing by Novell. Our friends Zane and Lexi were able to join us as well as all my siblings that live nearby. It was really fun. Frank something-or-other (a comedian on TBS that Aaron and I really like) opened for the show and he was really funny. The downer was that we were really high up so the acoustics were pretty bad and it was hard to tell what he was saying a lot of the time. Another downer was that my sister Megan was taking a video with her phone and accidentally dropped it over the balcony...and it totally busted. What a shame! All in all though, it was a pretty great time, considering it didn't cost a cent!

This is Collective Soul on stage...I promise:)
