Pregnancy Update

I went to see the parenatologist (if that's even how you spell it...fancy shmancy word for high-risk pregnancy doc) today because the baby is measuring small. I am 32+ weeks but she is only measuring at 29 weeks. After being hooked up to monitors for THREE hours, we found out that everything seems to be okay, she is just a tiny gal (less than 10th percentile). I have to go back to the hospital 2 times a week now, plus my regular doctor's visits, so they can monitor her progress and make sure she is getting the nourishment she needs. If she doesn't improve, they will probably induce me in 4 weeks because she'll get better nourishment outside than in. I had to get a steroids shot today to help her lungs develop, and I'm going back for another oh-so-enjoyable dose to the rear end tomorrow. Oy. So, the next few weeks will not be very fun, but I feel very at ease. All of the doctors and nurses have been really great and I am confident that my little girl will be just fine. And hey, if I deliver early, that's a whole month of Utah heat that I don't have to endure as a pregnant whale. I'll try to keep that in mind :)

I cannot believe you are as far along as me! You look like me at about 5 months along... SERIOUSLY! I am definitely not posting my belly photo cuz you make me look HUGE!Mine is gonna be 9 lbs though, so I can tell myself that's why.... I hope you feel better and all goes well with the little munchkin! I'm sure she will come out perfect!

Oh man, I'm doing the biweekly monitoring too, but they're charging me a $20 copay EACH time so I boycotted it. It's only because I'm on blood thinner...everything ALWAYS checks out ok so I'm on the once every other week plan (by personal choice) But if I were in your situation-I would FOR SURE be going twice a week. Good luck! I've got 28 days until inducement! Did you have a name?

Your bump is so cute. I'm sure your little lady is perfectly fine in there. Some people just have little babies. It will make for a nice easy delivery. How big was Finn?

I can't wait to meet her! Did you guys pick out a name?

We have 3 main names that we are thinking of: Kate (#1 choice right now), Megan (I want to call her Meg) or Scarlett. I keep switching which one I like the best...so we will probably just see what she looks like in the hospital and name her then. Finn was 6 lbs 6 oz, so we was a little guy too...I guess my body just likes to make 'em small :)
BTW: got my second dose of steroids today...shudder...glad that's over. Hopefully the soreness in my rear end will go away soon!

Good update - and thanks for the picture! Enjoy Finn while he is all by himself...read lots of stories and keep your feet up and eat lots of good stuff. I wonder how broccoli tastes in utero? Love you and am looking forward to seeing you all real soon.

She's just going to be petite like her mommy. Your tummy is adorable, by the way. I'll be thinking of you and praying that Kate/Meg/Scarlett is safe and healthy =-)
